What is the same in every city?
The provincial rules. Gas appliance work in Ontario is for TSSA-registered contractors with certified gas technicians (gas work guide), and every home with a fuel-burning appliance needs carbon monoxide alarms, on every storey since January 1, 2026 (alarm guide). A gas smell anywhere is a call to Enbridge Gas at 1-866-763-5427 or 911 from outside.
